OLD ENGLISH

ok so... I really want to learn Old English, because I don’t have enough useless skills already. Also because I’ve heard it’s a lot like Iceland/Old Norse (one of my other useless skills) and so maybe I could bridge that gap and learn it. Anyway I was looking and there is an OE class offered at BYU but I’d have to take seven thousand prereq classes to get there (it’s a 500 level course so what am I really expecting) but I was just looking at they have their syllabus posted! With a BUNCH OF LINKS TO USEFUL OE RESOURCES. So I’m going to post them all here for future reference/study.

There’s also this website the syllabus keeps linking to called Old English Aerobics but if you aren’t in a course it looks like you need to get special approval to register or something? I don’t really know what that’s about. So yeah you linguistics nerds enjoy!

recent discoveries!!!

1. BYU is finally getting a shuttle system (finallllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyuhhhh when I was at the U the shuttle system was so great and helpful to me as a human being) which really opens up my housing options
2. finding housing is hard when no one calls or emails back. thanks provo
3. THIS I JUST FOUND:

So I am on the BYU popo site because I am looking into bike registration because I really just want to bike around instead of dealing with a car (that will be a post for another day) and they have a section on their police website where I guess they post all the calls they get??? IDK but this is just so great. I can't. Also can't wait to check out these great informational videos!!!!

my life:

yep kids that's right I have to stop being in return mission limbo and get my life together, namely, by signing up for classes next fall. I've never done a fall semester at the majestic Y so we'll see how this goes. This is stressing me out and I'm getting a headache so here we are. I don't even know how many classes I want to take but I'm sure it'll be fine. so far I'm signed up for figure drawing, Icelandic 101 and.... well the video up there is me trying to sign up for American Heritage so who knows if I'll be able to figure out how to take this class. IT'S JUST AN OVERWHELMING AMOUNT OF WHAT IS ESSENTIALLY THE SAME INFORMATION. alright yep maybe I'll take like one more class too

nonadult related life goals:
-rewatch all of Star Trek (at least TOS & TNG) and then read the TNG fashion blog
-reread all that Pacific Rim fanfic I couldn't get enough of before my mish
- draw a lot? wait that's an adult goal at this point in my life
